How clean is the water in a float tank?

At Fast Twitch our Float Tank Therapy pods utilise a combination of photocatalytic and hydroxyl radical technology to ensure the strongest and most effective sanitisation. This is a brand new technology to the float tank industry and is completely safe and significantly more powerful than chlorine, hydrogen peroxide, UV or ozone. With the highest oxidising potential of 3.21 it takes float tank hygiene and water clarity to the ultimate level. Photocatalytic Oxidisation has an immensely powerful effect, with the ability to instantaneously destroy viruses, bacteria and pathogens, and more astoundingly possessing the capability to convert body oil, urea and other organic contaminants back in to their harmless molecular form.

This system is far more powerful than any other disinfection method. The i-sopod purification engine incorporates a large industrial pump, 55W powerful UV, automatic H202 dosing, 1 Micron (100 times small than a human hair) filtration, Bluetooth, AUX line in and SD card reader for connectivity to all devices. The pod is fully automatic and fully programmable and has been designed to give many years of untroubled heavy duty commercial use.

So, you know how clean a float tank is, but what actually is float tank therapy?

At Fast Twitch, we welcome a daily maximum of nine users for each of our six floating baths.  Between each session, a water treatment is started offering the equivalent of three hours of filtration in a large pool.  In addition to the performance of the filtering system and the pump, we proceed between each user to a spontaneous shock treatment, which instantly releases a chemical element named bromine. This intense dose eliminates all possible bacteria within the Float tank, to allow each user to float in an healthy environment, clean and free of bacteria.  Then, thanks to electronic laboratory instruments, a team evaluates the potential of oxidation-reduction every night, which allows to measure the ideal oxygen level so that no bacteria can develop.

Between each float session, all the water inside the pod passes through a medical grade 10 micron filter 4-6 times and the Epsom salts in the water act as a natural disinfectant, inhibiting the growth of bacteria. In addition, we use a combination of UV and H2O2 to ensure the water is fully treated between each float. We also require you to shower before getting into the tank to maintain the highest sanitation standards.
